Everything about the Accord Quartet...
ACCORD QUARTET was formed in 2001, by four students of the Music University (Music Academy) ’Ferenc Liszt’. They set the connecting of our ‘modern’ world and classical music as their objective, by means of performing chamber music with new thoughts at new venues. They have been regularly performing home and abroad.
The list of the location of their past concerts in Hungary include the Main Hall and the Chamber Hall of the Music Academy, the Old Academy, the Bartók House, the French Institute, the Marble Hall of the Hungarian Radio, the Budapest Autumn Festival (2004, 2005 and 2006), as well as in provincial towns and cities, namely Debrecen, Győr, Eger, Dunaújváros, and they have broadcast in the Hungarian Radio too. They also gave concerts in almost all countries and great concert halls of Europe, such as in Museum of Fine Arts of Bruxelles (BOZAR), Museum of Fine Arts of Madrid, in the Ermitage of St Petersburg. In April, 2008, they were giving concert to the Royal Family of Belgium and the President of Hungary.
In 2002, 2003 and 2004, they participated in the Vienna-Budapest-Prague International Summer Academy; where they could study with the greatest representatives of the medium, with members of the Amadeus Quartet, Alban Berg Quartet, Janacek Quartet, Smetana Quartet, Mozaik Quartet, Hagen Quartet and Bartók Quartet
They were awarded three high-class instruments from the Republic of Hungary, a French and an Italian master violin and an Italian master cello from June 2005. In February of 2008 a replica of a Gasparo da Saló viola was made to the Quartet by Tamás Guminár.
In 2003, they were guests of the Orlando Festival, in 2004, 2005 and 2007 they attended the Encuentro de Musica y Academia de Santander, in Spain.
They also participated in the stage production of Boris Godunov by Pushkin at ‘Madách Kamara’ Theatre (directed by Balázs Kovalik)
In 2002, they were awarded the ‘Thomastik-Infeld Prize’ in Austria, at the Vienna-Budapest-Prague International Summer Academy; in 2003, the Kodály First Prize, at the same venue and in 2004, the Bartók First Prize.
They were awarded the First Prize of the National Chamber Music Competition ‘Leó Weiner’ in 2003.
They were awared Artisjus Prize (prize for contemporary music premiers and playing) Hungary.
From October of 2006 they spent a year in Madrid in the Esculea Superior de Música de Reina Sofia with Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet), from October of 2007 they are students of the Hochschule of Basel in the class of Rainer Schmidt and Walter Levin (LaSalle Quartet).

Péter Mező violin
I was born in 1982. I started my musical studies at the age of seven, when I began to learn violin in Budapest. My father is the cellist of the Bartók String Quartet, and Head of the Cello Department of Franz Liszt University of Music. I was accepted to the Béla Bartók Secondary School of Musical Art in 1995. In 2001, I have entered to the Franz Liszt University of Music, from 2001 to 2003 I was having lessons from prof. Eszter Perényi and since 2003 I the student of prof. Géza Kapás. In 1998, I won the third prize of the Koncz János violin Competition (there was no 1st prize). I took part in different festivals, I could get lessons with violinists such as Stephan Ruha, Olivier Pons.

Csongor Veér violin
I was born in 1982 in a musician family, my mother is a violin teacher and my father is the primary clarinetist of the Hungarian Radio Orchestra. I started my musical studies at the age of six, when I began to learn violin in Budapest. I was accepted to the Béla Bartók Secondary School of Musical Art in 1995. In 2001, I have entered to the Franz Liszt University of Music, and since that I am having lessons from prof. Géza Kapás. This year I will complete my studies. In 2003 I won the third prize of the Leó Weiner Chamber Music Competition in „Sonate” category.

Péter Kondor viola
My name is Péter Kondor. I was born in 1980. I began my musical studies at the age of 6, when I started to learn to play the violin. From 1995 to 1998, I was studying at the János Richter Secondary School of Musical Arts in Győr, Hungary. In 1998, I changed for the viola and until 2001, I was studying in Győr and the Béla Bartók Secondary School of Musical Arts in Budapest. Since 2001 I’m a student of the Franz Liszt University of Music in Budapest and since that I am having lessons from prof. Géza Németh. I am finishing my studies this year (2006). I was taking part in two national viola competitions in 1999 and 2000, and won 3rd and 2nd prices.

Mátyás Ölveti cello
I was born in 1983. 16th of February in Debrecen, Hungary. I started playing on the cello in Debrecen when I was eight. I got to Kodály Zoltán Musical Secondary School when I was fourteen. My professor was László Papp. I continued my studies in Budapest in Franz Liszt University of Music with Csaba Onczay. I took part on competitions; I was 3rd on the Hungarian National Cello Competition in 1999, I got Secial prize on the musical competition of Hungaroton (Hungarian recording editor company) in 2001, I got 2nd prize on the David Popper International Cello Competition in Várpalota in 2002. I got Special prize for the performance of the contemporary music on the Budapest International Competition’s Popper Cello Competition in Budapest in 2004. I got lessons with László Mező, Joseph Podhoranski, Kiuchi Tetsuya, Christian Giger on different festivals.
